Stolen by history, returned today: belongs to the origin country or the museum?

The British Museum argument again. They stole half the world's treasures and now tell us it's 'for humanity.' Yeah, no.

Why not both? Digital archives + originals returned = everyone wins. But if I had to pick, the original stays where scholars can access it.

Looted is looted. No amount of 'universalism' justifies theft.

My country's artifacts were stolen and we can't even afford to keep them safe ourselves now. This isn't about preservation—it's about respect.

Once it's in a museum it's accessible to everyone globally. Shipping it back locks it behind borders and often poor storage conditions.
