The real answer depends on what work means to you. If you hate your job, leave earlier. If you love it, keep going. But the question assumes work = suffering, which isn't always true.

I know people who retired early and they're happier. People who worked til 65 aren't spending the money anyway. Time is literally the only resource you can't buy back.
