Would you let AI raise your child if it were provably better?

If the data proves better outcomes, we have to follow the evidence. Parental love is important, but a child's future matters more than our emotional attachment.

No. There's something irreplaceable about a human parent being there through the struggles. AI can teach, but it can't truly understand suffering or joy the way we do.

Better outcomes in what metrics? School grades? Money? If we're only measuring that, maybe. But human connection is part of a child's development too.

Even if statistically superior, we'd lose something fundamental about what it means to be human — the messy, imperfect bond between parent and child shapes who we become.

Our ancestors raised children without any of our modern tools, and we turned out fine. Love and presence cannot be programmed, no matter what the studies say.

Provably better is hard to define, but if it genuinely reduces suffering and increases wellbeing for the child, we should consider it seriously rather than reject it based on tradition.
