New phone: straight into a case or always bare?

Bare for the first month to prove I can be trusted with nice things, then reality sets in and it goes in a case.

Compromise: skin or dbrand. Protects without the bulk. Best of both worlds really.

Into a case immediately. I've seen too many cracked screens in the wild.
