Should children carry responsibility for their parents' wrongs?

Every person starts from a different point, that's undeniable. But forcing a kid to 'pay' for their dad's crimes? That's vengeance dressed up as philosophy.

Yes, they should carry some weight. Look at any privileged family — they benefit from ancestral privilege, so acknowledgment is the bare minimum.

There's a middle ground here nobody's mentioning. You can acknowledge inherited trauma or privilege without saying kids are legally/morally bound to fix it.

Accountability chains matter though. If we completely sever generational responsibility, we ignore systemic patterns.

This is way too abstract. Kids don't choose their families — expecting them to atone for things they had zero control over is fundamentally unfair.
